Last week we took a call from a customer who had suffered a lightning strike at their plant, which took out an old IPC 620 PLC. Fortunately for them, they had spare parts on-hand to repair the damage and bring the controller back on-line.

The incident left them without critical spares in stock, so the call was about ordering a complete board set for the PLC to replace what they had used. We shipped the replacement controller the next day.
